FAQ

FAQs

What happens if I get seasick?

Preparation is the key here and to take sea sickness pills with you if that’s a concern.

Are there additional charges to paying for my tour? And how does the Group Fund work?

Flights and your taxi to the marina are not included. Guests are asked to bring €200 each in cash to jointly cover their food, moorings (stays in marinas apart from Pula) and diesel for the yacht for the week. If there is cash left over then this will be evenly split between guests at the end of the tour. There is a €20 tourist tax that we will collect from you to pay the local authorities.

What if I can’t cook?

Our meals are prepared together and we take it in turns to cook, if you’re not confident to make something then helping out is always appreciated.

What will I need to bring?

We ask for non marking sole shoes for your time on the yacht.

Due to limited storage space on the yacht, we kindly request that you avoid bringing excessive luggage. Excessive luggage refers to large suitcases, multiple bags, or oversized items that may hinder the available space and cause inconvenience for everyone on board. Soft luggage (duffle bags or similar) is required as hard cases will not be able to be stored on board.

Do I need sailing experience?

No, just a willingness and enthusiasm to sail and join in sometimes! This is your holiday and you’re under no obligation to steer the yacht or learn about chart plotters. But if you would like to learn we are always willing to explain and give you the opportunity to learn.

Will I have a private bathroom (head)?

Each tour reserves a private head for the use of a double occupancy cabin. It is best to book early as this is given on a first come, first served basis. The remaining two heads are for the guests and crew to use jointly.

Will I have to work? And how fit do I need to be?

It’s encouraged to join in with the sailing together but this is your holiday so we’re not expecting you to lift the anchor!

What ages do you cater to?

We have a 25+ age policy for booking on our tours. We organise groups with similar ages and interests so you’ll feel relaxed and happy in the company we curate.

Do you cater to families?

A family charter is possible however we do not mix solo and couple bookings with families. If you would like to book a week for a family we have a standard charge at the rate that equates to five guests per week.

Can I get a sailing qualification?

Our one week tours are a great opportunity to improve your sailing however we do not offer formal qualifications.

When does the trip start and finish?

Check in is from 3pm in ACI Pula Marina on the Saturday and ends the following Saturday back in Pula. We ask all our passengers to disembark by 9am to allow us time to clean the yacht before the next departure. Detailed directions to the marina will be emailed to you when you book your week.

Will the itinerary change?

Our number one priority is to ensure that we have safe and happy guests onboard. With this in mind, we may need to change the itinerary for a variety of reasons including weather, port availability and guest experience.

What is your cancellation policy?

We highly recommend you arrange travel insurance in case you need to cancel for an unexpected reason to cover non-refundable deposits. Our cancellation fees are:

More than 90 days before original embarkation date: 30% of the tour fee

89 – 60 days before original embarkation date: 50% of the tour fee

59 – 30 days before original embarkation date: 75% of the tour fee

Fewer than 29 days before original embarkation date: 100% of the tour fee

Do I need to purchase travel insurance?

Yes, we highly recommend that you take out Travel Insurance that would cover cancellation, personal injury, medical expenses, personal liability & loss of personal property before you travel with us. It’s also important to check that your insurance covers any optional excursions you may be doing whilst onboard the cruise with us.

Please note: Once a booking is confirmed, there are fees applicable if you need to make a change to your booking or if you need to cancel. All fees can be found on our Booking Terms. Whilst we are unable to offer refunds, we can provide a letter confirming your cancellation with us which may aid your Travel Insurance claim, if required.

How flexible is the itinerary for the tour?

Our yacht itineraries are designed by us to showcase the best of the destination’s highlights. They are set and not flexible, even if you book all the cabins.
